Caring for Your New Frame

So you’ve brought home a new frame! We wanted to offer you some tips on caring for your bouncing bundle of art. First off, don’t bounce it. It’s fragile.

When cleaning the glazing (glass or acrylic) use a soft lint free cloth. We recommend microfiber cloths. Any high quality glass cleaner is great for cleaning glass but only use ammonia free cleaners for acrylic or you can make your own solution using 1 part water to 1 part isopropyl alcohol. To clean your glazing just spray a small amount of cleaner on the cloth and wipe in a circular motion. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the surface. Excess cleaner sprayed directly on the surface can seep around the edges of the glazing and affect the matting and art.

When handling your new frame make sure and have a soft barrier like a towel or cardboard between your frame and any hard surfaces to prevent scratching or chipping. Be sure and protect the corners when packaging the frame for shipping or moving.

Follow these tips and your new frame will remain beautiful for years.
